Country Songs With Disney Movies in Them

If there's one thing we love here at Disney Playlist, it's Disney music! While you probably recognize musicians who are often involved in Disney movies, like Alan Menken, you might not know who have been featured on the film soundtracks.

Sure, there's Demi Lovato on Frozen, and who could forget Christina Aguilera's rendition of "Reflection" from Mulan? But there are also many more that tend to fly under the radar.

Here are 12 artists you didn't know sang on Disney soundtracks:

1. Carrie Underwood, "Ever Ever After" – Enchanted

Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz penned this song for country superstar Carrie Underwood to sing on the Enchanted soundtrack. For the music video, Carrie was transformed into a cartoon herself, and adventures between Andalasia and New York, just like in the movie.

2. Taylor Swift, "Crazier" – Hannah Montana: The Movie

Remember when Taylor used to be a country singer? Taylor not only sang "Crazier" for Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack, she also made a cameo appearance in the movie as the entertainment at the barn party!

3. Ne-Yo, "Never Knew I Needed" – The Princess and the Frog

R&B artist Ne-Yo recorded this song for the soundtrack and end-credits of The Princess and the Frog. He also was featured in a music video with some cool shots of New Orleans, where the movie is set.

4. Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, "We're Doing a Sequel" – Muppets Most Wanted

The wacky pop singer teamed up with the jazz artist to sing this song on the Muppets Most Wanted soundtrack.

5. Fall Out Boy, "Immortals" – Big Hero 6

Disney approached this alternative rock band about making a song for Big Hero 6, and according to band member Pete Wentz, the band loved the idea and the storyline. It's also rumored that this song is Baymax's favorite one from the soundtrack.

6. Raven-Symone, "Your Crowning Glory" – Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement

Former Disney Channel star Raven-Symone joined legendary singer Julie Andrews for this regal song on the Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement soundtrack. She also had a role in the film as a fellow princess!

7. John Mayer, "Route 66" – Cars

It makes complete sense that bluesy rocker John Mayer would cover this classic song for the Cars movie. In this behind-the-scenes video, John Mayer talks about what it was like working with director John Lasseter to record the song for the film.

8. *NSYNC, "Trashin' the Camp" – Tarzan

Throwback! This 90s boy band contributed this fun song to the Tarzan soundtrack. It still has us tapping our toes.

9. Owl City, "When Can I See You Again?" – Wreck–It Ralph

Owl City, aka Adam Young, wrote this song specifically for the film. In an interview, Young expressed how excited he was to be involved in the project because of his love for Disney.

10. 98 Degrees and Stevie Wonder, "True to Your Heart" – Mulan

"True to Your Heart" was another boy band soundtrack masterpiece, this time with the addition of living legend Stevie Wonder.

11. Grace Potter, "Something That I Want" – Tangled

Hollywood Records artist Grace Potter channeled the feel of Tangled in her song "Something That I Want." She even stopped by Radio Disney when the movie premiered to share a special acoustic version of the song.

12. Jenny Lewis, "Barking at the Moon" – Bolt

Musician Jenny Lewis is known for her solo music, as well as performing in bands Rilo Kiley and The Postal Service. She sang "Barking at the Moon" for Bolt and was also had a voice part in the movie as "Assistant Director."
